Photo Shoot

Yesterday, we chanced upon the Witchery for Kids booth at the mall. Kids got to try the very nice clothes and have their photo taken for free.

Vince preparing to have his photo taken on the green backdrop.

This is the final output. It's blurry because i took a photo of the actual photo from my Iphone. LOL!

Vince had to pose four times for this because the camera was not working. He said he doesn't want to be a model but the final product tells otherwise. Mukhang enjoy na enjoy naman sya :P

Bondi Beach

We've been bracing ourselves for a very cold winter this year but surprisingly, it hasn't been as cold as last year. It just feels like spring here now, and last Saturday, more like summer even.

So, along with the boys, we hied off to the famous Bondi Beach, our first time there since arriving in Australia. We had a lovely lunch at a resto overlooking the beach, strolled along the very looong shoreline, had ice cream, watched the surfers, took a lot of photos and just enjoyed a lazy afternoon. Vince also got to try bungee jumping which he loved so much.

Now that Rafa is almost 5months old, we plan to spend more time outdoors, exploring the many tourist attractions offered by NSW. Hopefully, we'll have more sunny weekends in the coming days.

Buttercup..err cake!

The little boy asked that we bake again so we scoured the grocery for our next baking project. And lo, we found a box of butter cake mix! This cake is a regular in my son's lunch box as he often winds up getting it when we drop a visit at our favorite bake shop.

As soon as we took the cake out of the oven, the little boy asked if we can bake again to which i readily answered, "Yes!" as I tried to remember where I hid the banana-honey muffin mix.

Apparently, he had other things in mind, "But next time Mama, not from the box anymore, okay?"

Ulk!

Sydney Aquarium

We visited the Sydney Aquarium last weekend. I felt like a child again specially since I saw most of the animals for the first time. I am happy for my son that he gets to experience this early on in life.

Who would want to pat the sharks anyway? Hehe!

Muddy Feet

This photo was taken last December when we visited my Uncle's farm. It was raining so hard but we had to move around the farm a lot to get some things done. We were unmindful of the heavy rain, strong wind and thick mud. All we cared about was to have fun, stuff ourselves with good food, sing and dance using a huge videoke machine. I love this pic because it reminds me of good times spent with loved ones.
Can you guess which one is mine? Hehe

Dee Why Beach

the long stretch of white sand

We visited Dee Why Beach last June 7 which was about an hour from where we are currently staying. Quite a long trip, actually, but it was well worth it.

Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia about this beach:

"Dee Why Beach runs for about 1.2 km along the eastern border, overlooking the Tasman Sea. To the north are the dunes separating the beach from the Dee Why Lagoon. On its southern end, the foreshore is given over to Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club, and Dee Why Beach Reserve, which contains picnic areas and century old Norfolk Island Pines, similar to the ones in Manly. The reserve is contained by a seawall running for approximately 400m, and has recently been upgraded, with new pathways, stairs, lookout platforms, an upper promenade and the restoration of the war memorial.[7] There are two playgrounds in the vicinity, located southern end of the beach and west of the Life Saving Club, and several ocean pools located below cliffs to the south."

It is a great place for families as there are activities for all age groups. The folks can go swimming in the beach or the pools, the teen-agers can go surfing or fishing while the kids can frolic in the huge playground overlooking the shoreline. It is also a good place to just commune with nature.

We did not get to swim because it was still very cold even with the sun shining. Eh, winter pa kasi. We made a promise to go back come summer.
