Buttercup..err cake!

The little boy asked that we bake again so we scoured the grocery for our next baking project. And lo, we found a box of butter cake mix! This cake is a regular in my son's lunch box as he often winds up getting it when we drop a visit at our favorite bake shop.

As soon as we took the cake out of the oven, the little boy asked if we can bake again to which i readily answered, "Yes!" as I tried to remember where I hid the banana-honey muffin mix.

Apparently, he had other things in mind, "But next time Mama, not from the box anymore, okay?"

Ulk!

Blueberry Muffins

I have promised the little one that we'll try our hand at baking and the perfect opportunity came last Sunday when at the grocery, I found some boxes of blueberry muffin mix. :P
We hurriedly went home, set out the utensils and proceeded to follow the instructions on the box. It was so easy, we were done in less than five minutes!
I know, I cheated by using a ready mix but hey, the little boy had fun! Hehe!
Our little baker concentrating on the task at hand.

The batter set in the pretty little silicon moulds, ready for the oven.

A dozen yummy muffins.

3 little muffins waiting home for Papa who had to work last Sunday.

Update on the move

I haven't had time to blog the whole week because we've been busy unpacking and decorating our new place. I had to take Monday off from work to catch up on lost sleep. Yep, I know, bad for a pregnant mommy. But I was too excited to see things in their proper places. A kept reminding me to just take care of the kitchen while he fixed everything else. But when he's not looking, I'd sneak a touch or two here and there. Hehe! Ang tigas ng ulo! A week later though, we have settled well and are happy with what we have put together so far.

Meanwhile, the little one did a splendid job himself. He was my shopping buddy because A had to work long hours before and even during the day we moved. He didn't mind lugging all the heavy bags so that Mama can only carry the light ones. One time, he was carrying four heavy bags and was having a hard time catching up with my long strides. I then heard him shout, " Mama, my pants fell!" It was such a funny sight that it took a while for me to reach him to help. I just kept laughing and although he was aghast at his mama, he laughed at himself na rin.

As a final touch to our place, we put up our Christmas tree yesterday. Good thing Christmas decors are on sale already, we bought ours at a heavily discounted price. It's a good deal considering that it's a tall tree with nice branches on it. A set up the tree while Vince and I put on the decorations. Last night, the three of us spent a quite night in the living room admiring our tree while listening to the radio.

Next on the list is the housewarming which our friends have been bugging us with already. And then we'll be having our mini -college reunion after Christmas here. Looks like A and I will have our hands full this month.
