Sleepy Head

I often hear about mums who complain how hard it is to bring their kids to sleep. On Facebook, my friends post status in the wee hours of the morning, still singing or dancing their babies, hoping to get a few hours of rest before going to work. Lucky for me,  I've never had the same major problems with my boys. With Vince, I sang "You Are My Sunshine" very slowly and quietly and he'd dose off. With Rafa, it's "Oh Holy Night" all nights of the year, kahit hindi pasko. I'm beginning to think I'm a pretty good singer. Nyahaha!

Nah, I don't actually know what is the magic formula here. I guess I just have two sleepy heads with me.

Really, I am not surprised. They have a dad who can sleep in between firing canons in Jolo. Nyahahaha!

Summer Bay/Palm Beach

My sister in law arrived on April 9. Yey! She's staying with us for a few months to help look after the kids. What a relief! 

On April 10, we brought her to Palm Beach or Summer Bay which is where the famous Home and Away soap opera is set. Going there, we passed so many picnic and fishing areas which hubby and I vowed to visit next time. The view was great, winding roads overlooking the beach, huge 'mansionic' houses, beautiful people in skimpy swimsuits. Hehe 

The photos were not great though because it was cloudy that day but here are some of them, anyway.

Mixed Berries Cheesecake

I've been keeping a few blocks of cream cheese in the fridge because I was planning to make cheesecake. But on the day I set out to do it, the website I got my recipe from was inaccessible. I tried to search for other recipes but nothing matched the ingredients I bought. Bugger! And then life caught up with me, I totally forgot about my cheesecake.

But last Friday, hubby was off from work and made this...

Rafa's Portfolio

- magpalit ko ug farms sa Bukidnon ug sa Davao kanang naay tanum nga mga pinya, durian, nangka, saging ug sabana
- mag-invest ko ug rental properties..taman sa maabot sa akong kwarta daghan kaayo
- moadto ko sa tanang state sa Australya, Hamilton Island, sa Hongkong, New Zealand, Europe, US, Greece ug siguro sa Abu Dhabi didto sa Ferrari World kay ganahan si Vince didto
- Diri gihapon ko puyo sa Australia maski datu na kaayo ko pero mag-uli ko sa Pilipinas kada 6 ka bulan
- Mag-hire ko ug maids diri sa Australia aron dili na ko manglaba, mamalantsa ug manghugas ug plato
- mag-trabaho gihapon ko part-time aron dili ko ma-bored pero dili ko magsaba sa akong mga kauban nga datu ko
- magpa-skwela ko ug mga pag-umangkon, kanang dili balingagan
- magtukod ko ug restaurant..kanang naay sisig, kinilaw, sinigang, lechon ug ginamos sa menu (ooops ayaw pagbuot!)

Goodies from Home

My sister-in-law arrived last Saturday bringing some much loved stuff and letters from home. The boys got toys and clothes from their titas. Vince had three more fashion necklaces from his lolo. I got these 3 sets of trousers from my sisters.

They fit perfectly!

Easter Hat Parade 2011

Every year, kids from Kindergarten to Year 2 at Vince's school celebrate Easter by donning fancy hats for the Easter Hat Parade. Coincidentally, this also marks the end of the term before they commence Autum break.

The hubby helped Vince make this year's hat while the little one was only too happy to be the "model".

Lucky Day

I won two movie tickets from some random raffle in our company's quarterly awards. Yey!
And they expire in September 2011. Another yey!!!

I still have 2 other free movie tickets that are expiring in May..have to check out which movies to watch soon.

500 Cupcakes

If you've been reading this blog in 2008, you will remember how Vince told me not to bake from the box anymore :) Read story here.

We've been baking a lot after that episode. And I have tried really baking from scratch to impress my little man :P

A couple of weeks ago, I saw this book from our company's book sale.

500 Cupcakes and Muffins-- Awesome!! We can try one recipe a day for over a year :) :) :)

I bet Vince will love this Classic Chocolate Buttercream Cupcakes.

I can't wait for the long weekend!

Photo Shoot

Yesterday, we chanced upon the Witchery for Kids booth at the mall. Kids got to try the very nice clothes and have their photo taken for free.

Vince had to pose four times for this because the camera was not working. He said he doesn't want to be a model but the final product tells otherwise. Mukhang enjoy na enjoy naman sya :P

Can't Quite Remember Where

One day in August last year, we went for a drive with our group of friends. We initially aimed for Bobbin Head Point but the GPS was playing on us and instead pointed us to this place. I can't quite remember where it was but I remember the warm and happy feeling from that trip.

After a hearty lunch, we hopped to another picnic area where there was a bbq facility because we had to grill the pork and fish that hubby brought. We had that for afternoon tea along with a bottle of wine. ahhh, the good life!
